Seva Responsibilities
GREETERS 2IMP: SEVAITES MUST UNDERGO AT LEAST 2 TRAINING SESSIONS TO QUALIFY. Report for a refresher training 15 minutes before start of shift. Very important area.

As greeters are the first people that guests to Amma's program encounter, friendliness, patience and compassion is very very important for this seva. Greet people and usher them to the token line or other designated areas. Identify those who have not met Mother before and guide them. Offer everyone Program Guides and answer questions. In the hall: Greet people entering the hall; facilitate quick movement to and away from Token givers; answer questions and briefly orient first-timers and usher them to the reserved section; usher guests with special needs to Priority seaters.

Its a standing seva, so comfortable shoes recommended.
Hours 8:00AM to end of morning program & 5:00PM to end of program in the evenings
URGENT NEED
  • Must know locations of bathrooms/children’s programs/dining area
  • Understand the set-up and flow of the hall in order to answer any questions
  • Be fully present for the people entering – try not to get side tracked in conversations
  • Encourage those who come to register themselves on the Ipad provided by the RSVP coordinator
  • Hand out programs
  • Direct people as they enter the hall (special needs/tokens/general seating)
  • Direct new people to the token table.
  • Greeters can help with initial screening as people come in. Find out who is new and who is returning.
